Mrs. Deedra Deason's
Seventh Grade Class
B.S.
Elementary Education, NLU 1991
M.ED. Educational
Leadership, NSU 1998
My name is Deedra Corley Deason. I am
the daughter of the late Joe Corley of the Nebo Community and Darlee and James
Herman Creed of Jena. I am married to Heath Deason and we have three beautiful
children. Our children are Kyler, age 11, Peyton, age 7, and Blayne, age 6. God
has truly Blessed my family and me. Our
hobbies include sporting events, camping, and other outdoor activities.
I have been in the
LaSalle Parish School System for the past 15 years. I have taught Special
Education, Physical Education, Coached Jena High School Softball, held the
position of Grant Writer for the parish, and am currently
teaching seventh grade at NES. I also serve as yearbook sponsor for the school.
Of the positions I've held in the parish, I much
prefer the classroom. I enjoy teaching and being in the classroom with the
students. They are what make my job enjoyable. I actually look forward to my
days with them. As a teacher, I only hope they feel the same toward me. I hope
that I can instill into them some knowledge that they will take with them and
find useful during their lifetime.
I live by the motto that "To Teach
is to Touch a Life Forever".
