3 Years Nebo Special Education Aide

     I have worked in the parish on and off for years.  I have served as a principal's wife, and a substitute teacher for over 18 years.  It has only been during the last 3 years that I was hired as a full time aide for the special education class at Nebo Elementary.

      I feel that my job is one that I play many roles in and on some days I feel prepared for none of those roles.  I am mama, grandmother, helper, office worker, secretary, and substitute on any given day.  But I can truly say I am never bored.  

    I feel that it is also part of my responsibility to help Mrs. Huffman to provide a learning environment that will challenge our students.  I feel that we have accomplished this.  Our students are engage in what we call minds-on activities.  We hope that they learn that there is seldom "one" way to do a problem or find a solution.  We hope to develop students that use their minds and will explore different solutions.  For we feel that if a student will do this it will bring about a better understanding of the problem and the solution.
