Welcome to our cafeteria! For healthy fun, check out http://www.smartbodies.org
Child Nutrition Program Payment Policies General Payment Policy Computers in each cafeteria now allow the Child Nutrition Program to keep up with payments and meals eaten for an entire school year. Because of this, we encourage students to pay in advance for their breakfast and lunch meals. We encourage parents to send checks made out to the Child Nutrition Program at the school their child attends. A separate check should be written for the Child Nutrition Program that does not include other school fees, because we cannot cash checks or split checks with other funds. Please note the child’s name on the check-if the check is written for more than one child’s money, each child’s name and the amount to credit to each child should be noted on the check. Federal law requires that payment must be made for all meals received. Provisions are made for households that are unable to pay for their child’s meals through Free and Reduced Price Meal Applications. The LaSalle Parish Child Nutrition Program will allow students to charge Breakfast and Lunch Meals up to a total of five days worth without special arrangements being made with the Child Nutrition Program Manager at the school your child attends. If a child owes more than the five days and arrangements for an extension are not made, the child will not be served until payment of that bill is received. SF (Non Sufficient Fund) Check Policy If a NSF check is received the person writing the check will be contacted and asked to pay the amount of the check in cash plus any bank charges assessed to the school system. A second NSF check by the same person will result in all meals being paid by cash or money order unless that person can satisfactorily show that no additional check will be NSF. A third NSF check will result in all school fees requiring payment by cash or money order. End of Year Payment Policy Students will not be allowed to charge meals during the last two full weeks of the school year. Students who owe balances at the start of May must make arrangements with the Child Nutrition Program Manager at the school their child attends to clear these balances or they will not be allowed to eat during these last two weeks of the school year until the bill is paid. Students who owe monies at he end of the school year will not receive their report cards until their bill is paid. Checks will not be accepted for the payment of meals after the Monday starting that two-week period to avoid any NSF checks that cannot be cleared before students leave for the year. Any student that has a credit left in their account at the end of the school year may obtain a refund by having the parent request this amount be refunded. We require a signature of the person receiving this refund and if it is an amount that requires a check be written, this check must be cashed by the last day of June. The last day of June we will close out the local school accounts and move that money to the central account and the checks will no longer be valid. _____________________________________________________________________________________________In accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
